Bibliophilia: Series Enders

I finally got my hands on these two series enders!

The Enchantress is the sixth book in the Michael Scott's Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series, detailing the adventures of fraternal twins Sophie and Josh Newman and how their lives turned upside down when they discovered that the quirky bookseller in their neighborhood is none other than the immortal Nicholas Flamel.

Serpent's Shadow is the third installment in the Rick Riordan's Kane Chronicles, about the life of siblings Carter and Sadie Kane and their quest to revive the ancient Path of the Gods of Egypt and help thwart the rise of Apophis, ruler of Chaos and destroyer or worlds.

I wasn't expecting the two books to be released in the same week, but since they're here, I can't not buy them.  And now, my dilemma:  I've been following both series for the past three years, which book should I start reading first?

If you don't hear from me for some time, you know what the culprits are.  :-)

    1. @ Visual Velocity: Yeah, thanks! They're quite fun. I'm done with one and starting the other already. I hope to finish before the week ends. :-)

  2. Read them both at the same time! Aning lang diba? Tapos mag-live tweet ka so we can see if nakakasunod ka pa or naghahalo na yung mga kwento!

    1. I haven't done live-tweeting book reviews, although I used to write chapter analyses before, where I write what I thought of a book thus far, what I think of the characters, and what I think will happen next. I get my predictions right most times. hehe

Simultaneous reading, now that's tricky. But there was a time when I am reading three separate books. One I bring when I go out, one I read at bed, and another I read while on the crapper. It gets confusing at times, but it's fun. haha! :-)

    3. It's a literary exercise. Based on what I've read so far, and how I understand the characters, I try to guess what will happen next in the books. Depends on how the author writes about his or her side characters, you may be able to gleam how important they will be in the succeeding chapters. :-)

    1. Yup! As juvenile series goes, these two are pretty interesting. Scott and Riordan are both teachers of mythology and they made the most out their respective myths.

Ako rin, tambak pa rin ang reading list, but I give preference to the various series I read. Riordan's Heroes of Olympus book 3 is due this year too, or maybe early next year. :-)
